Letters

Qix: Dear Snow,
I would appreciate it if your delightfulness would stay longer than two days. Sincerely,
Qix~

Mox: Dear Qix,
I wish you'd make me hot chocolate every morning.  Also, the snow doesn't have to stay. It can melt if it wants to. Love,
YFD (your fave dongsaeng)

Qix: Dear Mox,
Please do not lecture me on the stay of Snow. Thank you. Also, as long as you are willing to gain a few extra pounds by my hot chocolate, I will gladly do you the service! Yours Truly,
Me
P.S.
You are not my favorite dongsaeng. You shouldn't disillusion yourself into thinking so.

Mox: Dear Qix,
Who, may I ask, is your fave dongsaeng?? If not me, then I should think you don't have one. Also, I am not afraid of gaining a few extra pounds. That fear does not belong to me.
NLYFD (no longer your fave dongsaeng)

Qix: Dear NLYFD,
I do not think it is for you to know who I treasure most in this world. I'm glad the afore mentioned fear does not plague you. Bye,
BSAYG (becoming skinnier as you gain)
P.S.
You should hope that I don't accidentally eat you while you are still skinny. nom, nom, nom....
Mox: Dear Mara Unni,
I am sorry to inform you that I will be moving very shortly. Someone is threatening to take my life so I must move far away and live incognito. I believe I will move to Seoul and spend my days writing fanfiction about my favorite idol stars and I. Hoping for the best,
Mox

Note: Dongsaeng means younger sibling

Snow and Ice

Ever since December, we've had snow. Just as the snow was about to melt, and I'd think I could almost see the ground, it would snows again. This is not typical for Indiana. So I was even more surprised when we got an ice storm. The actual storm wasn't too bad. It was the after affects. After two days of rain, ice, and snow continuously falling, I found that I was living in a land of ice. All that snow we've had since December? It's ice now. Several inches. Walking outside isn't possible. You skate. Because the ice is so thick, it's hard to scrape it off the roads. We got two days of school and work canceled (YAY!). Because there's so much ice, it's going to take a long while for it all to melt. So I'm thinking about having a skating party (in my backyard :D). Would you like to come?

Snow Ice Cream

Mom has been making snow ice cream ever since I can remember. She says she got her recipe from her grandma, although it has never been written down. . . till today! Since it snowed today (again) Mom made some snow ice cream and I convinced her to give me the recipe (of course I told her it'd go on my blog!). We call it snow ice cream, but it would probably be more accurate to call it a Banana Smoothie. Anyway, here's the recipe;
3 cups vanilla soy milk
1 package vanilla pudding
18 cups fresh snow (make sure it's not yellow!)
1 egg
1 frozen banana
Blend soy milk and vanilla pudding together until moderately thick. Slowly add snow while stirring. Beat until all mixed in. In a separate bowl beat egg, then slowly add 1/2 cup snow/pudding mixture. Make sure it is well combined. In a third bowl, blend banana with 1/2 cup snow/pudding mixture. Dump banana into snow/pudding mixture and stir well. Add egg mix to snow/pudding mixture while stirring. Make sure it is well combined. Put in freezer and stir every 15 minutes for 1 hour. When it is ready to serve, stir one last time, then serve (warning; it melts fast!).

Note; if you want to use cow milk, feel free to do so, but add in about 1 tsp. vanilla extract.

Hiking in the Snow

Over winter break, Dad took us to Pine Hill where we hiked around (on trail and off :D).

More Snow!

It has snowed a lot recently, and now we have piles of snow everywhere! These pictures are from yesterday, when we were getting ready to hop in the car and drive to a piano recital.

The First Snow of the Season

It's officially December. I can tell because it snowed for the first time all day today (not counting a few slight flurries). This made everyone in our family very happy! Joshua was outside at 8:00 this morning, tramping around in the snow. I couldn't blame him, for if I was 8, that would be the very first thing I did when I woke up too! I like lists (I'm guessing you've already figured this out), so here is a list of today's happenings;
  • A trip to Ohio to pick up a pedal harp for Moxie
  • Playing in the snow
  • Putting up Christmas decorations
  • Eating breakfast in the snow (Qixi did, at least)
  • Lounging around at home
  • Playing Christmas songs on various musical instruments
  • Thinking about the upcoming school week
  • Excitedly preparing for our trip to Chicago
Have a very merry day!
